"Which religion had the most effect in the history?"

I would have to say Christianity and Islam. Religion has added so much destruction and negativity. Some of us get a lot of comfort from religion, but I would say that's one of the few positives. it gets dangerous when people use religion to justify for their actions. Take a look at places like the middle east and how they treat women. Their leaders are dangerously religious people. Nut jobs.

Fortunately, it looks as though things can only get better

Islam at first, then Christianity is how I'd do it, both have been amazingly influential, for good and ill.
For right now it still depends on where you live but for the future I'd say Christianity will probably continue to have the biggest impact, simply because it holds sway in those places where the most progress (scientifically speaking) is being made.

The trend looks to be atheism simply outstripping religion though, there'll come a point where religion no longer has any real say in matters beyond its ken and at that point I'd say it stops being important, unless you believe of course.

Christianity, Islam and Judaism hands down. They have the most followers and believe in essentially the same God.

another problem is judging people by their religion instead of respecting it & accepting each other's opinions

I don't know how anyone could think anything other than Christianity. It's had the most influence on the world, both good and bad.

Judaism and Islam. Christ himself was a Jew and Christianity was formed out of that! Those 3 are the predominant religons in most countries that are economically developed or are developing a lot quicker nowadays, apart from Japan, China and arguably the UK, which are becoming more secular/atheist.

And on another note, any news of religious tension or problems in the world those 3 are mostly centred around those 3 in conflict. Radical Buddhists and Rastafarians aren't exactly big news are they?

If we can consider Atheism a religion, then I'd say atheism, as it "freed" everyone from the religious wars and convinctions. My opionion, obv.
Unfortunately, I don't think this is true. In the past century, tens of millions people have been killed in atheist countries for holding religious beliefs. I'm referring to the USSR and PRC, as well as some smaller countries.

Does this count as religious violence? I say yes. since it all comes down to crushing the people who hold a belief system different from your own.

I think all the effects of any religion is bad.

Why? Well, religion makes people do crazy things, beliefs can be dangerous. I'm not anti-religion, I just think religion can be dangerous.

All religions are beneficial in getting people together to achieve something big (inconsequential or not), although this is not exclusive to religion.

All religions also inflict horrible psychologically harm upon the development of young minds by stunting their ability to think critically. This leads them to be vulnerable against whims of those who wield false ethics redefining evil as good.

I was baptised into the Church of England, Although I don't hold any religious beliefs what so ever. As for the largest impact, Hands down it would be Christianity, Taking aside the Crusades and any other ill effects it has bought on the world I think Christianity has been the most influential.
